Saturn V coaches jump for charity
Five Saturn V coaches performed a sponsored parachute jump in aid of the Chase Hospice for life-limited children. The organisation exists to provide help and support to families with children who are not expected to reach their 19th birthday.
Between them, Isobel Raby, Sefra Crilly, Vicky Patient, Andrea Higson and Adam Reynolds raised almost £3500 for the cause. Congratulations to them and many thanks to all of you who sponsored them.
Katie Pidgeon wins Gymnastics trophy for progress
9 year old Katie Pidgeon from Salfords has been awarded the coveted "Fay Greene Award for Progress in Gymnastics" trophy for her outstanding achievements throughout the last year.
The trophy is awarded annually by the Horley member branch - Springfit Gymnastics and Trampolining club - to the gymnast who, in the opinion of the coaches, has made the most progress in the previous 12 months. This award caps a fantastic year for Katie who won Gold at a recent Saturn V trampoline competition, and has just been invited to the Elite gymnastics squad class at Springfit. Katie is pictured receiving the trophy in front of her peers during the Friday 7.00pm class.

Recent Competitions
INTER CLUB TRAMPOLINING
Trampolinists from all clubs within the Saturn V association, came to Moor House School in Hurst Green on 23rd February to compete in the triennial trampoline competition. It was again, a very successful day with children of all ages and abilities competing. The impressive viewing balcony at Moor House was packed with proud parents watching and supporting. Organiser, Paul Kaye, said, "I am particularly pleased to see so many children competiting for the very first time in this competition. It demonstrates that the coaches are doing an excellent job in developing new talent." The competition consisted of six categories from the popular Winstrada development plan: from grade 8 through to the advanced grades. The event also included some impressive synchronised demonstrations. All competitors received a certificate of achievement and medals were awarded to the high scorers of each category. Pictured here are the medal winners, from top left to bottom right: Laura Field (Springfit), Ellie Stevens (William Road), Yasmin Anderson (Springfit), Sharley Scott-Browne (Springfit), Lauren Pettifar (Woodcote), Hannah Reilly (Springfit), Anna Quixley (Springfit), Samantha Christien (Springfit), Vikki Hunt (Moor House),
Katie Pidgeon (Springfit), Amber Gillard (Springfit), Rhea O'Leary (Springfit), Lauren Acutt (de Stafford).
SURREY'S FIRST EVER TRAMPOLINE COMPETITION FOR PEOPLE WITH ADDITIONAL NEEDS
Moor House School in Oxted was host to the first ever trampoline competition in Surrey for people with additional needs.
Billed as a "Novices" competition, the event was a joint venture between the East Surrey School Sport Partnership, Moor House School and Saturn V.
Twenty seven competitors took part from SN schools, and units within East Surrey.
Paul Kaye said, "All the trampolinists had worked very hard with their coaches to learn and memorise their routines. It was wonderful to see so many of these young people concentrating so hard on perfecting their performances and having such enjoyment at the same time."
All competitors received a certificate of achievement and the highest scorers also received a medal. All agreed that the first ever SN competition should not be the last, and Paul and Shirley will be planning the next competition with Moor House school shortly.
Pictured are all the competitors with photographic permissions.
SCHOOLS MAINSTREAM TRAMPOLINING COMPETITION
Paul and Shirley were once again asked to organise the East Surrey Schools mainstream trampolining competition, which took place on Friday 28th March at Moor House School, Hurst Green.
The following schools entered students: Warwick, Beacon, Woodcote, Moor House and Archbishop Tenisons. Entrants were received for all grades from Grade 8 (beginner) to A3 (advanced.) Several of the students also come to Saturn V classes for lessons, so it was pleasing for to be able to tutor them to represent their school and further the links between schools and clubs.
GYMNASTICS
Gymnasts from Pointers (Caterham) and Springfit (Horley) competed in the Saturn V Association Acro and Tumbling competition held at the Keys Centre in Horley on Saturday 30th March. There were 5 levels of tumbling from grade 1 - beginner to grade 5 - fairly advanced. Each gymnast performed 3 runs
There were 3 levels of pairs acrobatics routines and a trio category. The acro routines were performed to music and there were some quite spectacular performances, with some very innovative linking moves, starting positions and finishing positions; some of which were inspired by "Dancing on Ice".
Medals were awarded for the high scorers in all categories.
